Born and educated in Italy, BFA Degree with Honors 1974, Ms. Albergo has been living and working in New York City ever since.
From the '80’s through the '90’s, Mina designed sets primarily for the Theater, Opera, and Ballet. Over 60 productions on regional and international stages. Some credits include productions at the Teatro La Pergola in Florence, Italy; the Budokan in Tokyo, the Arena in Kobe, Japan; the National Theater in Caracas, Venezuela; and the Roundabout Theater on Broadway.
For the last 20 years, she has been designing and producing sets for television and cable shows. Her work has been viewed by audiences nationwide during broadcasts of shows such as: Super Bowls in Atlanta, San Diego and Phoenix, Wimbledon, the NBA on NBC, the Gravity Games, NBC Sports, Saturday Night Live, numerous shows for BET: 106th & Park, BET News, Rap City, and BET Style. Local News Sets for NBC4 and CBS2 in New York, WBZ-CBS in Boston and KYW-CBS Philadelphia, numerous shows for Madison Square Garden Networks.
In 1999 Ms. Albergo Founded Digital Transets Design, Inc. a specialty design for the broadcasting industry. A TransetTM is a photorealistic high resolution digital file, designed to reproduce a hyperrealistic elaborate three-dimensional set. Ideal when studio space is limited or quick set changes are necessary. Digital Transets Design, Inc. received a Gracie Award in 2000 from the Foundation of American Women in Radio & Television. She is a member of United Scenic Artists and a four-time NY Chapter Emmy Award winning designer: The Boomer Esiason Show in 2010, 2008, and 2007, and Angles in 2003, for Madison Square Garden Networks. She is the winner of a 2002 BDA Award for the NBA on NBC, and 2002 Emmy Award Nomination for Outstanding Production Design, NBA on NBC. She is the recipient of a Gracie Allen Award for Outstanding Design of the 2000 Gracie Awards Ceremony.
